New Panoramic Print: SS Ayrfield Sunrise

SS Ayrfield Sunrise Panoramic

Image 1 of 1

Pink sky sunrise and still water reflections of the SS Ayrfiled in Homebush Bay, Sydney, Australia.

I have been working on this for a while deciding the right print size and paper. This is a 3:1 panoramic print Printed on high quality Canon Infinity Platine Fibre Rag (310gsm). It is a premium Fine Art Luster paper, sitting between matte and glossy finish.

The paper is quite heavy (which is a good thing) and is archival quality, meaning no optical brightness or chemicals. Cheaper papers use additional brightness and chemicals are used to achieve a pure white paper, however it is at the expense of longevity. The additional chemicals will prematurely deteriorate the paper. Platine-Fibre Rag is an acid-free paper suitable  Fine art Photographic printing.

The print will be available in two 3:1 ratio panoramic sizes: 18×6 inches ($35) and 36×12  ($85) . The two sizes as matting and framing costs can increase significantly for nonstandard frames and images like this. Keep that in mind when ordering a print and intending to have it professionally matted and framed.

Prints are also sprayed with Hahnemuhle Protective UV spray. This spray seals the printed surfaces and protects them from dirt, fingerprints and moisture. It increases the water-resistance of printouts and protects images from fading caused by UV rays. A useful tip is to avoid having prints in direct sunlight. Even if the sun hit the print for a short time, over time the image will fade. Yellows will fade the fastest.
